Former President Cory Aquino; an icon of Philippine Democracy!

It was sad news hearing that the former President of the Philippines passed away. We don`t have TFC and was just able to read it in one of the forums I am joining. The former President battled for colon cancer for many years, it was that time I am still in the Philippines and I was following the news about her when I moved her in USA., I thought she was fine but it was sad hearing that she passed away last Aug.1, 2009. I been following her life in the news, TV, magazines, not because she is famous widow of Senator Benigno Aquino who became hero but because I was lucky to met her personally and plus the fact that I admire her daughter for being a good TV hosts. I admire President Aquino for her courage and religiosity , she was a woman with a strong devotion to Mother Mary and would always encourage the Filipinos to pray the rosary for the Philippines

It was 2003 when I had a personal experience of meeting President Corazon Aquino, it was an honor meeting her in our school during my post graduate studies in Quezon City, Philippines. She was our respected guest/Speaker that time in our community. She spoke with us and I got the chance to have few photos with my class mate during that time. She was a lady , with a warm heart, soft spoken and religious political leader. She was admired by millions of Filipino people by portraying the democracy in my home country. She been a legacy to the Philippines.

Filipino people are mourning for her death, and thanking her for all her wonderful deeds for the country. It was sad losing such a good person like her who been an icon for the political system. I hope that all her great works for the Philippines will always reign in the heart of the Filipino people specially for the politician who are in their terms as officials.

We will miss you , Madam President! Thank you for uniting Filipino people! now that you are with Jesus and with your beloved husband, "Senator Benigno Aquino", may Filipino people will always remember your legacy !Our Condolences to the Aquino family.
