Two days from now we will be celebrating Christmas. People around the globe still busy hunting their gifts to be given away on Christmas eve, it`s a great thing to do that, but for many especially in times of recession some people can`t afford to buy gifts to their loveones. For the wealthy and can afford families Christmas is really extravagant with their houses fully decorated, bulk of gifts at the foot of their Christmas tree. Never ending shoppers will be noticed around malls even at the cold weather.
Few weeks ago I am one of the person looking for gifts to my husband, but how? I don`t have a job for now, I don`t have money to buy gifts for him. Also If I will be buying gifts the money will be coming from my husband too. So I keep on thinking what kind of gifts I will be giving my husband that I will not be asking money to buy for him. Card? well and good, I can do that we have lots of cards here. Merchandise? can`t afford to buy some for him...! I want to buy him gifts that he like , he said he need a new razor but he want a good one that will lasts for a long time. Thinking how will I get that for him.
I was browsing gift ideas and advertisement online when I happend to click the Delta Skymiles rewards. Well and good I am a member of Delta Skymiles when I flew to Philippines two times. It says in the ads, join and enjoy the rewarding points of being Skymiles member. When I browsed their rewards merchandise , I was really glad there was razor included in the rewards. I checked my Delta Skymiles and access my miles, I am glad I can redeem 150$ razor just paying my miles from my card... I ordered and purchased it and I got it after 2 weeks. I was so happy wrapping it for my husband.
My wants to have gift a simple gift for my husband is just a part. Even I don`t have any any gifts. Christmas will always be especial for us. It`s our first Christmas together as husband and wife, what matters is the love in our hearts.
Christmas has been commercialized because of booming ads, print ads, media ads, etc. Give love on Christmas days, as the famous christmas lines but for some giving is sometimes a big factor because of financial problems. It`s good to share our blessings but for some who haven`t any to give, love and prayers is of great value. Gift and presents are just tangible things.
What matters on Christmas is our pure hearts. Our hearts worshipping and thanking God for the many blessings we received is the greatest presents we can give to Jesus on His birthday.
