All Saints and All Souls Day!

All Saints Day and All Souls days are celebrated by Catholics all over the world particularly in the Philippines whose dominantly catholics. In this time of feasts, it`s good time to look at what we believe as Catholics, in catholic faith we believe in saints, they are real humans like us whose in their lives strive hard to be good and to be pleasing to God, saints have ups and downs, they suffered and sinned too and they undergo different trials when they were alive. Saints are not supernatural being that we can worshipped, they don`t live a perfect life on earth, but why they become saints? it is simply because they really had a total change of heart and turn away from sins and live a pious life on earth, serving God in all their lives through our brothers and sisters in need. So, when they died they go directly to heaven and experienced the everlasting life with God.

We, too are called to be saints in our own especial way. God is calling us to be saints everyday. We can read all the life of saints and become our guiding light to be good and holy. Wether we are married, single, working in different state of life God is inviting us in this way so we too can be pleasing to God.

All Souls Day

Why we celebrated All Soul`s Day? All Souls Day is a Roman Catholic Tradition, in remembrance of our beloved love ones who have passed away. In Philippine practices, we are celebrating this on the eve of Nov. 1,(eve of All Saints Day) before the day of the All Souls day, we clean the grave , have it painted and also construct tent , so the family can gather infront of the grave, reflecting the life of the dead whom the family missed. We offer mass, prayers, candles and flowers for our love ones in the cemetery and particulary Filipinos bring some food and eat there, sort of sharing the food in their beloved dead.

The Feast of All Souls reminds us of our obligations to live holy lives and that there will be cleansing and purification of the souls.

Praying for our loved ones help them remove their stains or sin and allow their souls to enter in heaven. Through prayer and good works, living members of the church may help their departed friends and family to be with God and live a peaceful soul.

In this day of feasts I remember my parents especially my mom whose memories still fresh in my heart. It makes me sad when I remember her sudden death six months ago in the Philippines, but all I wanna do is to accept and pray for them for their peaceful souls.

To my parents whom I prayed that they maybe in Jesus. I missed you a lot. I will never forget the day you gave birth to me, your unselfish love will always remain in my hearts. I love love you both!

"May the Soul of all the faithful Eternal rest grant unto Maria and Cecilio,O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon them . May they rest in peace .Amen. "

"May the soul of all our faithful departed, through the mercy of God , rest in peace. Amen"
